Like many others who grew up with MySpace and early Facebook, I just love to divulge personal information to shady companies by filling in questionable quizzes backed by pseudoscience and pop-psychology just to find out which F.R.I.E.N.D.S character I am…
Still, because it’s a bit of fun, I’ve sought out numerous personality tests over the years and have compiled some of the results here.
Quiet, thoughtful, and analytical, INTPs are Introverted Thinking types who put a great deal of consideration into everything they do. They prefer to lay low and work hard, and while they may seem impersonal with people they don’t know well, it’s simply because they like to have a close group of people that they open up to.
INTPs are easygoing and unaffected, and they are often zoning out thinking about new concepts or wondering how things work.
ISTPs are diligent workers who genuinely enjoy becoming experts at a craft or in their career. They are cool and level-headed in a crisis and can quickly determine what needs to be done and effectively solve the problem. They are tolerant and logical.
And while they are slow to anger, they generally have little tolerance for drama or irrational behavior. While they aren’t particularly social, ISTPs are kind, helpful, and understanding, and are always willing to lend a hand.
Fives are alert, insightful, and curious. They are able to concentrate and focus on developing complex ideas and skills.
Independent, innovative, and inventive, they can also become preoccupied with their thoughts and imaginary constructs. They become detached, yet high-strung and intense. They typically have problems with eccentricity, nihilism, and isolation.
At their Best: visionary pioneers, often ahead of their time, and able to see the world in an entirely new way.
Private and purposeful, they tend to be very matter-of-fact, avoiding unrealistic ideas and unnecessary change.
Don’t be surprised if they get frustrated when rushed to produce something without considering quality standards.
Upholds established practices and may prefer to do the work of others rather than leave a job half-done, or to a poor standard.
Thoughtful and private, skilled at sticking with a job until it is finished, and has a high level of common sense and practical ability.
Will go the extra mile to get the job done right.
